This Privacy Policy explains how filxplayer ("the app", "we", "us") handles information when you use the app. filxplayer is a video player app for Android. It does not require you to create an account, and it does not upload, store, or transmit the video files you play through it.
filxplayer does not collect, store, or share:
To show the "Local" tab (videos already on your device), filxplayer requests permission to read video files stored on your device (Android's READ_MEDIA_VIDEO / READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE permission). This is used only to list and play videos already on your device — filxplayer does not upload these files anywhere, and this data never leaves your device.
filxplayer can also open and play a video when handed to it by another app you use (for example, tapping "Watch Now" in a companion streaming app). In that case, filxplayer receives the video's web address (URL) and title to play it — this happens locally on your device and is used only to start playback; filxplayer does not log or store a history of these requests.
filxplayer shows ads to support free use of the app, served through the following third-party advertising networks:
These networks may collect information such as your device's advertising identifier, general device information, and approximate location (derived from IP address) to show and measure ads, and to limit how often you see the same ad. This is standard practice for ad-supported apps and is governed by each network's own privacy policy:
You can reset or limit your device's advertising identifier at any time in your device's system settings (Settings → Privacy → Ads, on most Android versions).
Your playback preferences (default speed, preferred quality) are saved only on your own device, using standard Android app storage. This information is never sent to us or to any third party, and is removed automatically if you uninstall the app, or manually via Settings → Storage → Clear Cached App Content within filxplayer.
filxplayer is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, please contact us using the details below so we can address it.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time — for example, if we add a new feature or advertising network. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent change. Significant changes will also be reflected in the app's own Privacy Policy page (Settings → Privacy Policy).
